MODEL AA-1600-05 Pulse Frequency Divider (PFD)
(Automotive & Light Truck)
(For use with 12V Systems ONLY)

Arthur Allen Manufacturing Co's. Series 1600 Pulse Frequencey Divider fills the need for a stable, low cost dividing interface between vehicle sender and instruments. It is ideally suited for taxi meters, etc.

Accepts input signals from a variety of vehicle senders.

Divides the sender signal pulses by 2, 4, or 8 by choosing one of the output     wires.

Power leads are 3' long and input lead is 8' long, which provides quick and     easy installation without consuming wire splices.

Operates with input levels as low as .07 volts peak to peak.

  Vibration resistant.

Tamper proof, high impact case is sealed against water, dust and humidity.

  Wide operating temerature range.

INPUT SIGNAL: sine or square wave from reed switch, variable reluctance, or     generator type sendors.

INPUT SENSITIVITY: Delivers full rated 7 volt output signal from inputs as     low as 50 millivolts.

DUTY CYCLE: 7 volt output signals are 50 % duty cycle regardless of input     signal.

INPUT IMPEDANCE: High input impedance (47 Kilo Ohms) prevents     undesirable loading or interference with sender information.

OPERATING VOLTAGE: Operates from supply voltage of 8 to 15 volts DC.

PROTECTION: Protected against accidental polarity reversal, over voltage     application, transient spikes, and spurious interference.

TEMPERATURE RANGE: Operates over a temperature range from - 40 to        + 125 degrees Centigrade.

TERMINATIONS All input and output leads are prebonded conductors which     maintain much of the flexibility of ordany standard wire without the need for     twisting strands and tinning.

MODEL AA-1600-08 Pulse Frequency Conditioner (PFC)
(Automobile & Light Truck)
(For use with 12V Systems ONLY)

Arthur Allen Manufacturing Co's. 1600 Pulse Frequency Conditioner solves a number of problems encountered when connecting vehicle senders to instrumnetation. This stable, low cost device provides filtering to clean up any signal. This particular unit works at very low speeds where signals are weakest and most susceptible to noise influence from the vehicle's electrical system.

Provides an undivided, 1:1 isolated and amplified output of the same frequency     as the sender.

Accepts a large variety of input signals from vehicle senders.

Operates at frequencies as low as 0.2 HZ. (Equivalent to one tenth M.P.H. for     typical automotive speed senders.)

Operates at input levels as low as .05 volts peak to peak.

Power leads are 3 feet long and input leads are 8 feet long, which provides quick     and easy installation without time consuming splicing.

  Vibration resistant.

  Wide operating temperature range.

Tamper proof, high impact case is sealed against dust and humidity.

INPUT SIGNAL: Sine or square wave from reed switch, variable reluctance, or     generator type senders.

INPUT SENSITIVITY: Delivers full rated 7 volt output signal from inputs as     low as 50 millivolts.

DUTY CYCLE: 7 volt output signals are 50% duty cycle regardless of input     signal.

INPUT IMPEDANCE: High input impedance (47 Kilo Ohms) prevents     undesirable loading or interference with sender information.

OPERATING VOLTAGE: Operates from supply voltage of 8 to 15 volts DC.

PROTECTION: Protected against accidental polarity reversal, over voltage     application, transient spikes, and spurious interference.

TEMPERATURE RANGE: Operates over a temperature range from -40     degrees to + 125 degrees Centigrade.

TERMINATIONS: All leads are prebonded conductors which maintain much of     the flexibility of ordinary standard wire without the need for twisting strands and     tinning. Signal leads are noise cancelling twisted pair in vinyl jacket.

OPTIONS: In addition to the single output wire Model 1600-08 two oter options     are available. Model 1600-08A offers 2 isolated outputs which are in phase with     the input signal. Model 1600-08B offers 3 isolaed outputs.

MODEL AA-1800-03 Heavy Duty Pulse Frequency Divider
(Heavy Duty Truck & Bus)

Arthur Allen Manufacturing Co.'s 1800-03 is a pulse frequency divider as well as signal conditioning module. It's "stand alone" design (not dependant on power from any other instrument in the vehicle) makes it versatile enough to be used with all exisiting truck computers, tachographs, trip recorders, DMI equiptment etc., which requires reliable, noise free, divided or undivided pulses.

Accepts input signals from all known vehicle senders.

Provides either an undivided, 1:1, isolated output or an output divided by 2, 4, 8,     16, or 32 selectable by a dip switch.

  Operates over a wide voltage supply range (5 V to 32 V).

Operates at extremely low signal frequencies (from 2 HZ).

Requires as little as 40 millivolt input signal to deliver output.

Protected against accidental input power polarity reversal.

  Wide ambient temperature operating range.

  Vibration resistant.

Power leads come standard at 3 ft. long and sender cable 8 ft. long, which     provides quick and easy installation without time consuming splicing.

Provision for wire seals, on cover, to prevent tampering with program switch.

Switchable AC coupled output for applications to instruments that require DC     isolated input signals.

INPUT SIGNAL: Any wave form attainable from typical gear tooth, slotted     vane, electromagnetic AC generator, hall effect or reed switch senders.

INPUT SENSITIVITY: Delivers full rated 7 volt P-P square output signal from     inputs a low as 40 millivolts.

DUTY CYCLE: Essentially 50% duty cycle on all divided outputs.

INPUT IMPEDANCE: Greater than 100,000 Ohms, preventing undesirable     loading or interference with sender information.

OPERATING VOLTAGE: Extended range of operating voltages from 5 V to      32 V DC.

PROTECTION: Protected against transient spikes, ignition noise and spurious     interference by unique 3 stage filter and protected against accidential polarity     reversal.

TEMPERATURE RANGE: Unconditionally stable from -40 degrees C to +85     degrees C.

WIRES: All leads are rugged 18 gauge wire rated at 600 Vand at temperatures to     105 degrees C. Input signal leads are noise cancelling 2 conductor twisted pair in      a PVC jacket.

OPTIONS: A single output wire provides conditioned pulses with switch     selectable division ratios of : 1; 2; 4; 8; 16; or 32. Also, all outputs can be AC or     DC coupled with the same switch. In addition to the single output wire, Model     1800-03 also provides a seperate wire for baising the new hall effect and reed     switch senders.
